The Hammond Harkins’ Mission

Our goal since opening on Main Street in Bexley in October 1997 has been to show the very best in contemporary paintings, sculpture and works on paper. Our artists are national and international in scope. Among them are MacArthur (Genius) Award winner Aminah Robinson, Ohio-based landscape painter Paul Hamilton (who has exhibited in New York and was just accepted for an exhibition at the Butler Museum), Columbus College of Art and Design president Denny Griffith, United Kingdom painter John Worthington, California still-life painter Geer Morton, and local sculptor James Mason – the creator of Columbus’ famous Topiary Garden.

Many ingredients are required for a gallery to be successful and long-lived: a strong and talented stable of artists; insightful, thoughtful, and provocative exhibitions and events; a personable, well-informed and helpful staff; and most importantly – a large and growing group of friends and supporters who understand and appreciate the wealth of talent that we are privileged to exhibit. We at Hammond Harkins Galleries are proud of our history and success and we look forward to serving central Ohio for years to come.
