Biography
Manuel Hughes has been active in the art scene since the early seventies. He graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor’s and a Master’s of Fine Arts. Hughes splits his time between New York City and Paris, France, haunting antique stores and thrift shops looking for old crates, tins and toys to use as subjects of his colorful and highly detailed still lifes. The Whitney Museum of American Art, Chase Manhattan Bank, St. Louis Museum and High Museum are just a few of the many private collections that feature work by this internationally known artist.
