Artist Statement
My work explores the spectrum of emotion through abstraction, using acrylic paint as a primary medium. I work with simple forms—hard-edged shapes often layered with soft, asemic marks inspired by Japanese Shodo—to create a tension between structure and spontaneity.
Each piece reflects an inner landscape: anger, calm, conflict, clarity. I don’t aim to prescribe a specific feeling but to create space for the viewer to feel something. The contrast between rigid geometry and ephemeral line work mirrors how I experience the world—where chaos and beauty coexist, often layered atop one another.
Influenced by artists like Rothko, Kandinsky, and Mondrian, as well as by the music that surrounds me while I paint, my process is intuitive and emotionally driven. I seek balance between control and release, between the seen and the felt.
