OakMille
Artist Bio:
Camille “OakMille” Baldwin is an Oakland-raised, Columbus-based visual artist. Her upbringing in East Oakland, California sparked her relationship with art, which became a way to process what she didn't yet have words for. In college, Camille studied Human Development, a path that would go on to shape her creative voice. She rediscovered art through sessions with an art therapist where she began using the page to process emotion again.
Each of her pieces act as steps toward reconciliation and self-acceptance. OakMille’s work folds in the insight she carries from studying the human experience across its many phases. Her work moves through the transitional states of duality, clarity and occasional unrest, inviting viewers to look within
OakMille has since shown her work across multiple exhibitions. Most recently, her work has found its way into a wider conversation about perseverance and alignment through a painting titled “Hope”. This piece was acquired by recording artist D Smoke, which became the cover art for his third studio album, Wake Up Supa.
